Previously, he was enthroned by a just and wise king in a kingdom on the island of Java. One time, the king got a wangsit or magical whisper from the gods, that in all the kingdom he ruled there would be a disease. The god whispered that the king had to make a contest for all the people to look for the golden orange fruit as a sacrifice to repel the plague. The king then announced a contest throughout the kingdom regarding the search for the golden fruit. Whoever is able to find the golden orange fruit, the king will give him a large prize.
People throughout the kingdom became excited by the contest. They felt drawn to the contest because they were promised to get a gift from the king. However, people also feel confused about where to look for the golden orange fruit.
Is Pak Sikir, a person who claims to have supernatural powers and is able to get the golden orange fruit. Pak Sikir went to the king. After getting his blessing, he then went to look for the golden orange fruit. Because of his magic, without a long time Pak Sikir managed to get a golden orange fruit. He put the fruit in a large basket that he carried. Pak Sikir was very happy to think of gifts he would receive from the king. On the way to the royal palace, Pak Sikir met an old man.
"What did you bring in your basket?" the old man asked.
"Oh, this is just sand." answered Mr. Sikir lying.
"Oh, I see." said the old man, nodding his head. "OK. Continue your journey. " said the old man again.
When he arrived at the king's palace, Pak Sikir went to the king to hand over the golden orange he got. But how shocked was Pak Sikir, because in his large basket there was only sand. The king was very angry because he felt deceived by Pak Sikir.
Then face another person to the king to convey his ability to get the golden orange fruit. And he went looking and managed to get a golden orange fruit. On the way home, he met the old man who asked what objects he was carrying. He also lied, like Pak Sikir, by saying that he only brought bricks. Miraculously, the golden orange he brought turned into bricks. Again the king was made angry because of failure to get a golden orange. Then another person came and agreed to get a golden orange and he managed to get it, but he admitted to the old man that what he was carrying was a pebble, so the golden orange turned into a pebble. Thus this incident keeps happening repeatedly. The king felt hopeless and thought that none of his subjects could afford a golden orange.
Then came a pitcher named Ki Jaka Meleng, son of mokok Randa Meleng to the king to convey his graciousness to get a golden orange. The king who has felt broken does not believe him. But the pitcher still forced the king to bless him looking for a golden orange. The king finally agreed with the condition that if he failed to get a golden orange, then his head would be beheaded. The pitcher agreed. Ki Jaka then went looking for golden oranges and finally got it. On the way, an old man asked what he was carrying. Ki Jaka answered honestly that what he was carrying was the golden orange that the king had asked for. The old man nodded his head and said "Be careful, child, in case the fruit is stolen."
Upon arrival in the kingdom, Ki Jaka handed over the golden orange to the king. Of course the king was delighted that the pitcher had succeeded in carrying out his duty to save the kingdom from the plague. The king finally fulfilled his promise by giving gifts, even giving the regent position to Ki Jaka. Thus the folklore of East Java about the golden orange fruit.
