The match in the Garinggiang River

One day, Anggun Nan Tongga heard the news that in the Garinggiang River, Nangkodoh Baha opened a match to find a husband for his younger brother named Intan Korong. Anggun was interested in the match and asked Mande Suto Suri for permission to join him. Of course Mande Suto Suri refused because Anggun was engaged to Gondan Gondoriah. But because Anggun insisted, Mande Suto Suri finally agreed.

Then Anggun went to the Garinggiang River to join the competition. With his agility, it's easy for Anggun Nan Tongga to win every match. Whether it's playing chess, shooting or cock-fighting, Anggun easily wins. Feeling embarrassed because he was defeated by Anggun Nan Tongga, Nangkodoh Baha then mocked Anggun for allowing his three mamak (mother's brothers) to be captured by pirates on the island of Binuang Sati. Anggun Nan Tongga was shocked after learning that his three mamak were held captive by pirates.

Looking for the Three Mamak

Anggun immediately rushed home to ask permission from Mande Suto Suri and his fiancée Gondan Gondoriah to save his three mamak, namely: Mangkudun Sati, Nangkodoh Rajo and Katik Intan. Mande Suto Suri allowed Anggun to go to the island of Binuang Sati to save his mammals. While Gondoriah, asked Nan Tongga to bring gifts in the form of objects and rare animals as many as 120 pieces. Some of them are a parrot that can talk, an ape who is good at playing the harp, and a cloth that is not wet with water.

Anggun Nan Tongga immediately went to the island of Binuang Sati accompanied by his loyal servant Bujang Salamat. He sailed using a ship named Dandang Panjang with a captain named Cik Ameh. After sailing for a while they finally arrived at the island of Binuang Sati.

Knowing the arrival of Anggun Nan Tongga who wanted to save his mamak, the king of the island of Binuang Sati sent his envoy to meet Anggun to ask Anggun to immediately leave the island. The request was clearly rejected outright by Anggun. Then there was a fierce battle. After a long battle, Bujang Salamat managed to kill the Bajau Commander. Then conquer the ruler of the island of Binuang Sati.

Nan Tongga immediately looked for his mamak. He met with one of his mamak, Nagkodoh Rajo, who was locked up in a pigsty. Nangkodoh told that the other two Tongga mamak had escaped during a sea battle against the Panglima Bajau's men. Nangkodoh Rajo also said that the clever parrot sought by Nan Tongga was in the city of Kuala Kota Tanau.

Hearing Nangkodoh Rajo's explanation, Nan Tongga immediately sent one of his subordinates, Malin Cik Ameh back to Pariaman, to convey the message that Nangkodoh Rajo had been released. While Nan Tongga himself with Bujang Salamat, continued his journey to Kuala Tanau City.

Upon arrival in Pariaman, Malin Cik Ameh immediately headed to the house of Mande Suto Suri to deliver Nan Tongga's message. However, when he saw the beauty of Gondan Gondoriah, Nan Tongga's fiance, he changed his mind. Malin Cik Ameh lied instead by saying that Nan Tongga was taken prisoner by the Bajau Commander and that Nan Tongga ordered that Malin Cik Ameh be appointed as the leader in Dalam village, Pariaman. So be Malin Cik Ameh was appointed as a leader in the village of the Inner, Pariaman. Not long after, Malin Cik Ameh sent a messenger to propose Gondan Gondoriah. But the proposal was rejected by Gondan on the grounds that he was still mourning his captive by Nan Tongga.

Meanwhile Anggun Nan Tongga arrived in Kuala Kota Tanau, he managed to find another mamak. His uncle has become a king in the city of Tanau. There also Tong saw a parrot that was able to speak. The magic parrot apparently belonged to his daughter's daughter named Princess Andami Sutan. Nan Tongga tried to ask for the parrot to Adami Sutan's daughter, and Adami Sutan's daughter was willing to give it on condition that Nan Tongga would marry her. Nan Tongga was finally married to Princess Adami Sutan.

It was unexpected that the magic parrot that belonged to Nan Tongga was lockedaxle from his cage and flew to Pariaman. The parrot met Gondan Gondoriah and said that Nan Tongga had married Andami Sutan's daughter. Gondan Gondoriah's heart broke to pieces at the news. He felt that he had been betrayed by Nan Tongga. Since then, Gondan Gondariah no longer wants to meet Anggun Nan Tongga.

After marrying Adami Sutan's daughter, Nan Tongga felt uneasy. He felt homesick and his fiancée Gondan Godoriah. Unable to contain his longing, Nan Tongga immediately returned to his hometown of Pariaman, and left his wife Adami Sutan who was pregnant.

The news of Nan Tongga's return in Pariaman spread quickly. Gondan Gondoriah who heard the news immediately fled to Mount Ledang. He was no longer willing to meet with Nan Tongga who had hurt him.
