The Story of Rangga Gading

Long ago, there lived a young man named Rangga Gading. He is very powerful, but unfortunately often misuses his magic by carrying out robberies and theft. Rangga Gading is a skilled thief, he has never been caught. That is because he has supernatural powers that is, he can transform himself into whatever he wants. He can be transformed into animals, trees, rocks, or water.
The Story of Rangga Gading

Rangga Gading Steals the Buffalo

One day, Rangga Gading stole five buffaloes. The theft was deliberately carried out during the day to show off supernatural powers. When the villagers found out their buffalo had been stolen, they went to hunt for the thief. Rangga Gading laughed at the panicked residents losing their buffalo. Then an idea popped into his head to work on them. With its magic, Ivory Rangga turns buffalo legs upside down, so that the animal's footprints are in opposite directions. Residents who followed the trail were deceived, instead they were getting further away from the buffalo.

Desperate residents then decided to capture Rangga Gading in the market. They assume, Rangga Gading will definitely sell the buffalo there. But the base of Rangga Gading did not want to lose, he changed the buffalo horn that had been curved upward to downward. Buffalo skin that was black was changed to white. Thus, he survived from the pursuit of the masses who wanted to capture him.

Rangga Gading Stole in the Sacred Land

One day, Rangga Gading heard a news about a sacred land in Karangmunggal village. It is said that the land contained gold so the land was heavily guarded by state guards and village elders so as not to be disturbed. The news made Rangga Gading even tempted to have it. He immediately climbed onto a coconut tree. After arriving at the top, he released a piece of coconut fronds and with his knowledge, the flats could fly away to bring him to Karangmunggal village.

Upon arrival in Karangmunggal village, Rangga Gading transformed himself into a cat so that it was not known by state guards and village elders. Of course the guards were fooled. The Rangga Gading incarnation cat calmly dredged the ground containing gold. Then put all the gold into the sack he was carrying. After the sack was fully loaded, Rangga Gading immediately flew back using the same midrib, heading to the village where it was hiding.

Before arriving at his hiding place, Rangga Gading stopped briefly to rest. In a quiet place, he opened his loot, then he took a handful of gold and burst out laughing. He felt victorious and began to become proud. The young man then hung his golden sack on a tree branch, then took off his clothes to bathe in the lake near his rest area.

Rangga Gading Meets Grandfather

Rangga Gading did not know that his gestures were noticed by a powerful grandfather. The magic grandfather immediately knew what Rangga Gading had done, and it was very regrettable if the young man's powers were used for things that were not good. He was determined to change the young man for the better.

When Rangga Gading finished bathing, he was surprised to see a powerful grandfather standing on the edge of the lake. His face was glowing and wearing a turban and a white robe signified a person who was knowledgeable.

"What are you doing Ivory Rangga? Why did you steal and do despicable acts?" said grandfather magic

"Who are you, old man? How do you know my name and why do you ask me that? Don't you know that I am powerful?" Rangga Gading answered arrogantly.

"I know you are powerful, young man. That is why I ask." said the magic grandfather.

"Go old grandfather, do not disturb me or I will ..." before finishing his sentence, Rangga Gading suddenly fell to the ground. His body felt weak without strength. He knew that the powerful grandfather made it so.

"Gosh, grandfather ... geez!" Rangga Gading said miserably. "Alright, I'll repent and become your student, but please stop this. My body feels weak and hurts a lot." Rangga Gading begs for mercy.

"Alright, I keep your promise." the grandfather stopped his spell. Ivory Rangga's body returned to normal. Obediently the young man then followed the magic grandfather to a college. The school belongs to the grandfather of magic, that's where Rangga Gading learns how to use his knowledge and magic for good things.

Ivory Rangga Turned into a Good Person

The young man studied very diligently. His knowledge grew taller, but his character remained humble. He stopped stealing and robbing, and helped more people around him. Grandfather sakti was very happy with the change, and asked Rangga Gading to lead the college if he was gone. Rangga Gading also accepted that responsibility.

When the great grandfather died, Rangga Gading also led the college. There are more students, and the college is increasingly popular everywhere. The name Rangga Gading is also known as a kind-hearted magician.
