Long ago, in Central Java Province, there was a king named Raja Munding Wangi who ruled in a kingdom on the island of Java. His Majesty has a beautiful princess named Kadita. Aside from being pretty, Kadita's daughter also has a noble heart. Because of her beauty that's usually called by the name Dewi Srengenge which means beautiful sun.
King Munding Wangi wants a son to inherit his royal throne later. Even though he has a beautiful daughter and is kindhearted, King Munding Wangi still feels sad because he does not have a son. His Majesty the king then decided to remarry with Dewi Mutiara. From the marriage of Raja Munding to Dewi Mutiara, a son was born. Of course your majesty feels very happy.
The birth of the only son of King Munding made Dewi Mutiara happy because one day she would inherit the throne. But still Dewi Mutiara felt that Kadita's daughter would be his son's toughest rival. Moreover, Dewi Mutiara knew very well that Raja Munding was very fond of Kadita's daughter. Then arises his evil intention to get rid of Kadita's daughter from the royal palace.
Princess Kadita Affected by Magic
Initially, Dewi Mutiara asked Raja Munding to expel Kadita's daughter from the palace. Of course this request made Raja Munding angry. Dewi Mutiara also apologized to her husband and promised not to repeat his actions. But apparently Dewi Mutiara has another plan, which is to pay a witch doctor to bewitch Kadita's daughter.
Dewi Mutirara then told her maid to meet a shaman who lived deep in the forest to bewitch Kadita's daughter. With a lot of gold in return, the shaman agreed to Dewi Mutiara's request. The shaman bewitched Kadita's daughter with a skin disease.
Not long after, in the palace there was a furore, where Kadita's daughter's entire body was filled with scabies and ulcers that gave off a foul odor. Raja Munding immediately ordered the doctors to treat his beloved daughter. But none of the physicians who managed to treat it.
Princess Kadita was expelled from the Royal Palace
At that moment, Dewi Mutiara launched her action. He asked King Munding to exile Kadita's daughter out of the palace so that it would not become a source of gossip for the royal population. King Munding very forced then asked his daughter to leave the royal palace.
With a broken heart, Kadita's daughter left the palace. The poor princess left alone, not knowing where to go. He can hardly cry anymore. Putri Kadita learned that all of this was slander by her stepmother, Dewi Mutiara. But Kadita's daughter felt the slightest bit of revenge. He accepted this ordeal sincerely. After walking indefinitely until finally he arrived at the southern coast of Java.
Kanjeng Ratu Kidul
Princess Kadita saw how clear the water in the southern sea was. He wanted to throw himself into the southern sea. Finally Kadita's daughter jumped into the southern sea water. Miraculously, at that moment all the skin diseases of Kadita's daughter suddenly healed. All the scabies and ulcers on his skin are gone. Princess Kadita is as beautiful as ever. His power was miraculously increased. Since then, Kadita's daughter has ruled in the southern sea region and is known as Kanjeng Ratu Kidul or Nyi Roro Kidul.
Kanjeng Ratu Kidul or also known by the name of Nyi Roro Kidul is a mandraguna magic ruler of the southern coast of Java island. According to folklore from Central Java, at first she was a princess of Raja Munding Wangi named Kadita's daughter who was driven out of the kingdom.
