Murtado Macan Kemayoran

During the Dutch colonial period, there lived a young man named Murtado. This handsome and mighty young man lives in the Kemayoran area. Despite having high silat knowledge, Murtado was reluctant to become an employee or accomplice of the Dutch East Indies government.

Even though Murtado is a good young man and likes to help the weak, there are some who don't like his presence. Bek Lihun and Foreman Bacan who were Dutch accomplices did not like the presence of the young man. They were very upset with Murtado who was anti-Dutch colonial. The quarrel between them finally culminated when the Foreman Bacan teased Murtado's girlfriend at the rice pounding event. The Bacan foreman is in charge of supervising the course of the event.

"Mr. Foreman Bacan, please don't disturb my girlfriend," said Murtado firmly, seeing his lover being bullied and seduced by the Foreman Bacan.

"Why is that, huh? I'm free to like who I like, bad boy!" The Foreman Bacan teased Murtado.

Murtado, who had been uncomfortable with the presence of Foreman Bacan, immediately offered a fight. This matter was welcomed by the Bacan Foreman. They finally took out their respective silat moves. As it turned out, Murtado's martial arts skills were much higher than that of Foreman Bacan. This overwhelmed the Bacan Foreman.

Foreman Bacan finally ran helter-skelter to avoid Murtado's attack. Murtado's actions were reported by Foreman Bacan to Bek Lihun. bek Lihun ended up using a ploy to frame Murtado. Strategy after tactic to trap Murtado was always carried out repeatedly by Bek Lihun and Foreman Bacan. However, in the end the tactic was useless. Murtado is smarter and more observant than his opponents, Bek Lihun and Foreman Bacan.

Bek Lihun and Foreman Bacan reconcile with Murtado

According to Betawi folklore, Bek Lihun and Foreman Bacan finally chose to make peace with the young man named Murtado. In their hearts, they know that Murtado is a good young man.

One day, Bek Lihun went to Murtado. The purpose of Bek Lihun's arrival was to ask Murtado to quell the robbery committed by Warsa and his men.

"Murtado, I ask for your help," asked Bek Lihun.

"What help can I do, Mr. Bek Lihun?" asked Murtado.

“The band of robbers led by Warsa is very disturbing to the people of Kemayoran. Many Kemayoran people have fallen into poverty because they were robbed by them. The Dutch had reprimanded me many times in order to quell the robbery. I ask for your help to quell the robbery," explained Bek Lihun to Murtado.

"Okay Mr. Bek Lihun. I will definitely help to quell the robbery. My goal is to crush the robbery solely for the sake of the people, for the sake of the people of this area. I have an obligation to protect them. So my goal is not to help the Dutch colonial government. Please, be careful, Mr. Bek Lihun," explained Murtado at length.

"Well, I know you are a good person and like to help the community, Murtado," said Bek Lihun.

Murtado cracks down on Warsa-led heist

Finally Murtado devised a plan to quell the robbery led by Warsa. To quell the robbery, Murtado asked his friends, Saomin and Sarpin for help.

“We must succeed in eradicating the robbery. The people are increasingly suffering from the robberies carried out by Warsa," said Murtado to his friends.

"What steps should we take, Brother?" Saomin asked Murtado.

"We just went straight to the Tambun and Bekasi areas, Warsa and his men are based there," said Murtado.

"Does that mean we have to go there?" asked Sarpin.

"That's right, tonight," said Murtado confidently.

It turned out that Warsa and his men were not at headquarters. By relying on question after question to people who passed them, Murtado got the answer that Warsa and his men were in Karawang.

Finally they met with Warsa and his men. The battle took place and was unavoidable. They wrestle very quickly. Murtado was quite overwhelmed with the martial arts moves that Warsa had. In fact, Warsa had mocked Murtado's martial arts skills.

“What martial arts do you have, hey young man?! ha.. ha.. haa..., you can't beat me!” Warsa explained to Murtado.

Murtado was not discouraged by the taunt, he continued to attack Warsa. Meanwhile, Saomin and Sarpin fought a fight with Warsa's men.

Several times, Warsa mocked Murtado's martial arts skills, but this was ignored, instead causing Murtado to be enthusiastic about defeating Warsa. Murtado remembers that the people of Kemayoran need his help to defeat the robbers led by Warsa.

Finally Warsa can be controlled by Murtado. Murtado was able to defeat Warsa and Warsa was finally killed. Warsa's men finally apologized for their actions.

Firmly, Murtado asked Warsa's men to show them where the stolen goods were. After Warsa's men gave them the stolen goods, they were finally pardoned by Murtado.

These items were eventually returned to their respective owners. The residents of the Kemayoran area were finally grateful and rejoiced with Murtado's success in crushing the robbery led by Warsa. People feel safe, secure, and peaceful.

Murtado offered to become a Kemayoran official

After that incident, Bek Lihun and Dutch officials came to Murtado. They are proud and amazed by Murtado's success.

“Murtado, you are a brave and brave young man. To appreciate your services, I suggest to the Dutch government to appoint you as the leader of the Kemayoran area, replacing me," said Bek Lihun with a smile.

Murtado is silent after hearing these words. Murtado remembers that his assistance is solely to help the people.

"I'm sorry Mr. Bek Lihun, my goal is to crush the rebellion solely to help people who need my helping hand. I'd rather be a commoner. Let me fight in my own way,” said Murtado with a smile.

Bek Lihun was silent, Murtado's words were true. He harbored admiration for the young man. He has a noble and wise heart. How he was not tempted by wealth, rank and position if it would make him an accomplice to the Dutch colonialists.

Murtado is still Murtado, a Kemayoran warrior who chooses to be a commoner. However, his charisma remains in the hearts of the people, so Murtado is nicknamed the Kemayoran Tiger.

Murtado Macan Kemayoran is a folklore originating from Jakarta (Betawi). Tells the story of a handsome and brave young man named Murtado. Murtado is a young man in the Kemayoran area who lived during the Dutch colonial period. The young man was actually not happy with the Dutch authorities.
