In ancient times, it is said that in the Kampar area there lived the Lancang together with his mother. Their lives are both very, very poor. Si Lancang makes a living by working as a farmer.
Unable to live in poverty, Si Lancang wants to go overseas to improve his life. Finally one day he asked permission from his mother as well as his teacher to go overseas. His mother finally gave his blessing. His mother advised that he should always remember his mother and his hometown. "Do not be a child of disobedience. Don't forget your mother and hometown son. " his mother ordered.
"Fine, ma'am. I promise not to forget my beloved mother and hometown. " Si Lancang promised to his mother. Her mother was moved to tears when her only son worshiped her knee for the blessing of salvation. His mother then prayed for Si Lancang. He also provided his son with a packet of lumping dodak, Si Lancang's favorite cake.
Si Lancang Becomes a Rich Merchant
Long story short, after years of wandering, Si Lancang was very lucky. With his perseverance, he succeeded in becoming a wealthy merchant. On the land of overseas, he has dozens of merchant ships. It is also reported that he had seven wives. All of his wives came from wealthy merchant families. Meanwhile, in Kampar, his hometown, his mother still lives in poverty.
Once upon a time, Si Lancang went sailing to Andalas using his luxury ship. On that trip he brought his seven wives. On board the luxury ship, they also carry supplies of delicious drinks and musical instruments as a means of entertainment. When the luxury ship Si Lancang docked in Kampar, musicians played the musical instruments with great fanfare. Meanwhile, beautiful silk fabrics along with various gold and silver decorations were displayed. Everything was done to add to the magnificent impression of Si Lancang's wealth.
The news of Si Lancang's arrival was quickly heard by the residents of Kampar, including his mother. With a touch of emotion, his mother immediately rushed to the dock to greet the arrival of her only child. Because of his poverty, he only wore a shabby old shawl, a worn sarong and a full-stitched kebaya. His mother then ventured into the deck of the luxury ship Si Lancang.
On the boat, his mother immediately told Si Lancang's helpers, that she was the mother of their employer. After stating that he was Si Lancang's mother, no one from the crew believed him. They roughly drove the old mother away. But Ibu Si Lancang doesn't want to get off the ship. He insisted on meeting his son. The situation caused a commotion on board.

Si Lancang Doesn't Want To Confess His Mother
Hearing the commotion on the deck, Si Lancang, accompanied by his seven wives, immediately came to the place. How shocked he was when he saw that the ragged woman who was kicked out was his mother. The mother of the presumptuous said, "You are presumptuous ... my son! I'm your mother son! Mother really missed you my son. " Feeling ashamed to see the poverty of his mother, Lancang arrogantly refused to acknowledge his mother. This disobedient child shouted, “What? I don't have a mother like you! How could I have a poor woman like you. Sailor! get rid of that crazy woman. " shouted the presumptuous.
Si Lancang's mother finally returned to her house feeling hurt. When he got home, he then took his inheritance. The heirloom is a rice pounding mortar & a nyiru. The dimple he was spinning around while imitating the heirloom, he wagged it while praying "Oh my God ... I have struggled to raise Si Lancang, but now he has turned into a disobedient child. Please punish him. "
After Mrs. Si Lancang prayed, suddenly a strange incident occurred. In an instant, descended a great hurricane. The storm blew so violently that in just minutes it was able to destroy Si Lancang's merchant ships. Not only was the ship shattered to pieces, his belongings also flew everywhere. According to community stories, the silk cloth floated and then fell in the left Kampar area. The cloth then turned into a country which is now called Negeri Lipat Kain. While the gong was thrown into the Kampar Kanan area which then changed its shape to the Ogong River. The pottery hovered and turned into Pasubilah. Meanwhile, the flagpole of Si Lancang's ship was thrown and fell into a lake. The lake is now named Lake Si Lancang.
