The Squirrels and The Fish Cork

Once upon a time, two animals were friends, namely Squirrel & Fish Cork. They live in a lake in West Kalimantan. They have been good friends for a long time and help each other out if their friends get into trouble. Folklore of Squirrel & Fish Cork originates from West Kalimantan.

One day the squirrel did not find its friend, the Cork fish, where they used to meet. Finally, Squirrel visited the house of Fish Cork. The squirrel finally found that the Cork fish was seriously ill. Cork fish body looks weak because it has been a long time since he wanted to eat. He lost his appetite. The squirrel persuaded his friend to want to eat, but the Cork Fish didn't have the appetite to eat. Fish Cork said that his illness could only be treated by eating Fish Yu's liver. The squirrel then offered to help his friend to find Fish Yu's heart even though he knew Yu Fish was the most ferocious fish in the lake.

The Squirrels And the fish Cork Are Good Friends

"Hi friend, it seems that you are seriously ill. You have to eat to get well. I will help you find Fish Yu's heart?" The squirrel offers to help.

"However, Fish Yu is the most vicious fish in the lake." said the Fish Cork.

"It's okay, you're my best friend. I'll find a way." said the squirrel again.

The squirrel then thought hard to win Fish Yu's heart. In fact he was very afraid of the ferocity of Fish Yu. Even though Fish Yu is very fierce, the squirrel must get Yu Fish's heart to heal his friend. Finally he got the sense to use the coconut fruit to enter Fish Yu's body. The squirrel climbs a coconut tree, makes a hole in a coconut until the water runs out, then he enters the coconut fruit and plunges it into the lake.

Squirrels bob in the lake on the coconuts that he has punctured. Not long after, Fish Yu appeared. The fish immediately swallowed the coconut that the squirrel was riding on. The squirrels were sheltering within the coconuts from Yu Fish's fangs, which were sharp like knives. Once inside Fish Yu's stomach, the Squirrel immediately stretched its hand out of the coconut. Squirrels try to win Fish Yu's heart. The squirrel's actions made Fish Yu feel pain. After struggling for a long time, Fish Yu finally couldn't endure the pain. Fish Yu finally floundered dead stranded on the edge of the lake. After feeling safe with Fish Yu's death, the Squirrel immediately came out of Fish Yu's stomach carrying his heart. He immediately went to the Fish Cork house to hand over Fish Yu's heart.

The Fish Cork Recovered From Pain

"Hi Fish Cork, how are you? I bring Yu Fish's heart. Hopefully by eating it you will recover." said Squirrel to Fish Cork.

"Is it true that you managed to win the heart of a very ferocious Yu Fish? You are indeed my best friend, O squirrel. I am very grateful to you." said the Fish Cork.

Then the Fish Cork immediately ate Yu Fish's liver. After eating Yu Fish's liver, the Cork Fish soon recovered from his illness. The squirrel managed to help his friend by using his wits, even though it nearly killed him.
