It is said that according to the story, in ancient times in the area of Padamara near the Sawing River, West Nusa Tenggara, there lived a husband and wife and their two children. The husband is named Amaq Lembain, while the wife is Inaq Lembain. The family lives in poverty. Their daily livelihood is as agricultural laborers. Every day they walked to the village village offering their strength to pound other people's rice. If Inaq Lembain goes to work pounding rice, her two children will accompany her.
The Golog Stone Getting Higher
One day, Inaq Lembain, as usual, was working pounding rice. He put his two children on a flat rock or a rock near where he worked. An oddity occurred. When Inaq Lembain started pounding rice, the gologstone on which her two children was sitting grew higher and higher. "Mother, please ... this stone is getting higher." felt like being lifted, the eldest son screamed for his mother. "My son please wait a moment, Mother just pounded." answered Inaq Lembain. Unfortunately Inaq Lembain ignored the screams of her son because she was busy working.
This keeps happening over and over again. The golog stone is getting higher and higher until it exceeds the coconut tree. The two children of Inaq Lembain were very scared. They screamed uncontrollably. However, again Inaq Lembain ignored it by keeping busy pounding & winnowing rice. The children's voices became less and less audible because they were too high. Finally, the voices of Inaq Lembain's children were no longer heard.
The golog stone was getting higher and higher. Until bringing the two children of Inaq Lembain to reach the clouds. They cried out loud in fear. At that time Inaq Lembain realized that her two children were no longer near her. They were brought up by a flat rock that rose.
Inaq Lembain Tearing Down the Golog Stone
Inaq Lembain called out to her two children while sobbing. However, the children did not hear Inaq Lembain's call. He regretted his actions and prayed that his children could return.
God actually answered his prayer. Suddenly Inaq Lembain felt that he had supernatural powers. Using his belt, he tried to hit the gologstone. Miraculously, by hitting his belt, the gologstone was cut into three pieces. The first piece of stone fell in a place which was later named the Village of Gembong. So called because the fall of the rock caused the ground there to shake. The second stone fell in a place that would later be named Dasan Batu because when it fell, someone witnessed the fall of the stone. And the last piece of rock fell somewhere making a roar. So that the place was named Montong Teker.
Unfortunately, the two children of Inaq Lembain did not participate in falling to earth. They have turned into two birds. The eldest turned into a Kekuwo bird while his younger brother turned into a Kelik bird. According to the public, the Kekuwo & Kelik birds are not able to incubate their own eggs because they are human incarnations.
The folklore of Batu Golog originates from the West Nusa Tenggara area.
